WOOFS! owner and Training Director Laura Sharkey has been named the December Certified Training Partner of the Month by the Karen Pryor Academy for Animal Training & Behavior. Laura has been recognized for her years of experience with puppy rearing and socialization and her expertise with aggressive puppies. Laura will speak about the subject at Clicker Expo in March 2014 in her presentation Give Pups a Chance: Working with Aggressive Puppies, and will also talk about the groundbreaking methods we use in WOOFS! training classes in her talk Shh! Tagging, Targeting & Tranquil Training.
Karen Pryor Academy for Animal Training and Behavior is an innovative institution committed to educating, certifying, and promoting the next generation of animal trainers. Certified Training Partners participate in an extensive educational program culminating in a detailed assessment of their technical ability and hands-on skill teaching pet owners and training pet dogs. Successful candidates must complete the program, earn the equivalent of an A on each component of the assessment, and pledge to uphold the high standards and practices of Karen Pryor Academy.
