What Is Day Training?
Day Training is a structured program where your trainer works directly with your dog while you take care of everything else in your day.
Instead of meeting once a week and asking you to do all the homework on your own, your trainer comes to your home two to three times each week to teach your dog and provide the consistent repetition needed to establish new skills and habits. Your dog learns in your own environment, where the behavior needs to happen, leading to faster, more reliable results.
Along the way, we meet with you for regular Family Practice sessions, typically around every fifth session, where your trainer coaches you through working with your dog so you can maintain the training with confidence.
What Can We Work On?
Day Training works best for specific, targeted skills where regular practice makes a big difference. It can also be incorporated into more complex training plans when additional support and rehearsal are helpful.
Why Choose Day Training?
Day Training is a great fit for many dogs and families because having a trainer involved helps you make steady progress.
- You have a busy schedule and want help keeping training on track
- You want support that goes beyond weekly lessons
- You want your dog to have structured activity and attention during the day
- You want faster progress that comes from your dog learning with a professional trainer
If you’re looking for a more hands-on approach with steady support from a trainer, Day Training can be a highly effective way to build lasting results.
How Day Training Works
1. Start with an Initial Session
We meet with you and your dog to understand your goals, assess behavior, and begin training right away. We’ll also talk through your options and recommend the training approach or package that best fits your needs.
2. Get a Clear Training Plan
Together, we’ll create a training plan and next steps tailored to your dog and your priorities.
3. Day Training Sessions
Your trainer comes to your home two to three times each week to work directly with your dog, practicing the skills in your training plan and creating reliable habits through structured practice.
4. Family Practice Sessions & Progress
Around every fifth session, we meet with you for a Family Practice session where your trainer coaches you through working with your dog so you can maintain the training with confidence. As your dog gains new skills, we continue to refine behavior, increase reliability, and adjust the plan to keep training moving forward.
Day Training Packages
Choose a package based on your goals, your dog, and the level of support you need. We’ll help you decide what’s the best fit during your Initial Session.
Not sure how many sessions you need, or whether day training or private training are the better fit? You don’t need to decide now. We’ll talk through your options and make a recommendation during your Initial Session.
