Laura opened WOOFS! in 2002 with the aim to improve the lives of dogs and their people in and around Arlington. A puppy development specialist, Laura brings nearly two decades of experience to helping dogs and dog owners, having taught hundreds of public dog training classes and worked one-on-one with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments.
Laura’s strong scientific background — she has a Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology from Georgetown — drives her approach to dog training and behavior. She established the WOOFS! training program on positive reinforcement training methods based on modern behavioral science to achieve the best training results possible with the greatest peace of mind.
Her experience and expertise are often called on within the industry, and Laura relishes sharing her knowledge to further the education and career goals of fellow dog professionals. She speaks at national dog training conferences and teaches the dog*tec Dog Walking Academy program for new and experienced dog walkers in Arlington.
