In an unregulated industry, we overachieve on our own education, and use only the most up-to-date, humane, dog- and human-friendly training methods in group training classes. We ensure a good time is had by all, while achieving excellent performance results.

Speaking of results, what good are they in the classroom if you can’t replicate them at home and out in the world? Our curriculum sets you up to enjoy a well-behaved dog in your everyday life.

Puppies 9 weeks to 6 months

For pups 14 weeks and under, begin your adventure with Puppy Party socialization hour. At the same time, your pup can begin their group training education in Puppy Kindergarten or Puppy Basic Obedience. And check out our shorter workshops like Leash Walking and Come When Called (Recall) — many have no prerequisite so you can start right away!

This socialization event for puppies is guaranteed to be the cutest hour of your week! Guided by our experienced puppy trainers, your pup will romp and play with fellow puppies while learning the Ps & Qs of polite canine social interaction.
Pre-requisites for first visit:
  • Pups start between 9 to 14 weeks of age
  • Documentation of first round of DAPP / DHPP vaccinations

Get your puppy started on the right paw with confidence building and foundation learning skills plus all of the things YOU need to know about surviving puppyhood. Registration includes $25 off our Puppy Basic Obedience class.
Pre-requisites:
  • Pups must begin Puppy Kindergarten by age 14 weeks or younger. (Can’t get into a class in time? Check out Puppy Basic Obedience!)
  • Documentation of first round of DAPP / DHPP vaccines

It’s never too late or too early to learn basic manners. If you want a dog who comes when called, walks politely by your side, stays where asked, and sits to say hello to family members, guests, and strangers, Basic Obedience class is the perfect fit.
Pre-requisites:
  • For pups 12 weeks to 6 months of age at the start of class

Want to sharpen a specific skill like loose-leash walking, reliable recalls, or polite greetings? Our workshops are short, focused mini-classes designed to help you make real progress in just a few weeks.

6 months through Adult

Adolescent and adult dogs can jump right in with Adult Basic Obedience, where you won’t just learn basic skills — you will practice with the same distractions you have to live with in real, everyday life. In Intermediate Obedience class, you’ll continue to improve on focus around distractions as well as start to reduce reliance on food and treats. Refine your skills with classes like Tricks and Canine Good Citizen. And check out the shorter workshops like Leash Walking and Come When Called (Recall) — many have no prerequisite so you can start right away!

Level up your dog’s basic obedience skills and build predictable, polite manners. Want your dog to pay attention to YOU, even around exciting distractions? Intermediate Obedience is your class! We practice more recall, stronger stays, better leash walking, plus Off / Leave it and begin to reduce reliance on food reinforcement.

Tricks are FUN, but did you know that they’re useful, too? Learn impressive trick behaviors taught with a variety of training approaches like shaping, luring, capturing and targeting. For extra bragging rights, your dog may be ready to earn a Novice Trick Dog title by the completion of class.

  • WOOFS! Intermediate Obedience class, or ask us how you can test in

Learn and practice the elements of the American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Test. The test includes skills like friendly greeting of strangers, sitting politely for greeting, walking nicely on leash through a crowd, and advanced stays and recalls. One test fee is included with each registration.

SEE AVAILABLE CLASSES

 

Join your instructor and classmates and practice your Good Citizen skills in public locations. Meet-ups take place on weeks 2 through 6 of class. Locations will be announced in advance each week and will be within or adjacent to Arlington. You may register for each meet-up individually.
Pre-requisites:
  • Current Canine Good Citizen class student or instructor permission

Sign up to take the Canine Good Citizen Test with one of our AKC CGC Evaluators. (One test is included with our CGC class.)
