Happy Valentine’s Day! What are these dogs up to now? Well, this week, each pup got to make their very own valentines to bring home.
Here’s how it works:
- We’d made pre-printed, foldable cards
- We add paint to the cards.
- We smear a baggie with peanut butter, and we carefully put the card inside the baggie.
- Then the dogs go to town licking the peanut butter and smearing the paint around on the card!
- We added a heart with each dog’s name, and voila, puppy art to keep or to share!
This activity is mostly entertainment for the dogs (and humans!), but you might be surprised to hear that this activity can be quite hard for some of the dogs! Newer dogs, in particular, can be very nervous when leave the daycare area to try new games. It can take them quite some time to warm up to licking peanut butter in a new space! This makes for a great low-pressure activity where dogs can get exposure to a new situation.
